Third grade students. For the past several years in the Moraga School District, 3rdgrade students have followed an “early bird” schedule for the first three weeks of school, and this year will be no different. Through September 7, third graders will be dismissed at 1:55 (1:50 on Wednesdays) to allow time for their teachers to individually assess students in reading comprehension and fluency. Third grade teachers will contact parents to schedule dates and times for individual student assessments.

    The Last Word...

Can you remember one of your first days of school? Depending on what grade you were entering the experience was probably a little different, but there was more than likely a mixture of excitement and nervous anticipation about the coming year…and the night before was a hard-to-get-to-sleep kinda night. The energy and excitement of everything brought a sense of newness into our lives. Whether it was catching up with old friends or making new ones, the start of a new school year was like a renaissance. And so it is for our own children as they make their way to school Tuesday morning, full of energy, excitement, and nervousness. Here’s to new beginnings, and a wonderful 18-19 school year.

    There’s no place like Rheem!
